VC Firms, Mission Ventures, Selby Ventures, and Tech Coast Angels Invest $2.7 Million in Series B Financing for Big Stage Entertainment
Media Tech Company based in Los Angeles and Long Beach, California; Big Stage Entertainment announced that it received $2.7 million in series B financing from Mission Ventures, Selby Ventures, and Tech Coast Angels. The addition of this series B financing has raised the total of venture capital that the company has raised to $10.6 million. Big Stage Entertainment is a company that offers a variety of media technology that allows the creation of three-dimensional animation that is photo realistic. With Big Stage’s flagship program, PortableYou, users can add three-dimensional media to a whole variety of different kinds of digital media, including video games, digital photography, video, etc.
Proceeds of the series B financing will go to increase research, sales and marketing of Big Stage’s Avator three-dimensional facial modeling software. According to the CEO of Big Stage Entertainment, Phil Ressler, what makes Big Stage Entertainment a significant digital media software developer is that its Avator software makes realistic three-dimensional facial design to the average consumer. Big Stage has built this software on a central strategy that can allow the consumer to project himself online. Mr. Ressler adds that this new round of funding will enable the company to push the envelop of interactive media and meet the new emerging needs for companies that would like to allow the user of their websites to be able to actually put their image seamlessly with media generated by either celebrities or other artists.
As far as Robert Kibble, managing partner of Mission Ventures, is concerned, by personalizing the projection of one’s self to the main stream consumer is a ground breaking innovation on the part of Big Stage Entertainment.
